About Mike
Mike Bottinelli is a Talent expert who specializes in getting mid-career, non-engineering professionals unstuck in their job search. His extensive experience ranges from Career Coaching, Talent Acquisition at Tech Startups and Venture Capital funds to complex culture transformation initiatives at multinational organizations.
Before that, he advised hiring-teams and recruited executives for SaaS Startups and VC funds. He primarily led specialized and sensitive searches, partnering with organizations like a Battery Ventures (VC Fund), Beautiful.ai (Series B, MarTech), Crux Climate (Series A, ClimateTech), ArtistOnGo (Seed Stage, Marketplace), Pearson Education (F1000, EdTech), and Molo (PE-backed, ERP SaaS).
Mike developed his consultative approach and coaching skills with The Medici Group (TMG), a human capital solutions firm that provides a range of services primarily in the Talent Development space. As an accredited coach and member of the leadership team, he led the launch and development of their coaching practice which has become a primary component of many organizations’ Learning & Development programs.
Outside of his leadership responsibilities, Mike has led dozens of workshops for mid-to-senior managers and directly coached +200 executives on inclusive leadership practices. His clients spanned 10 countries and include organizations like AMD, McCormick & Co., MetLife, and the US Navy & Marine Corps.
Mike joined TMG following a career in talent acquisition, where he assembled investment teams for private equity, venture capital funds, hedge funds, and family offices. He began his career with Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest and most successful hedge fund, where he led recruiting for several departments including Security Technology, Infrastructure, and Financial Operations.
A scientist by training, Mike earned a BA in Neuroscience from Bowdoin College; he is continuing his Neuroscience training through The NeuroLeadership Institute where he is currently earning his ICF certification and focusing on brain-based coaching practices.
Outside of career coaching, Mike captained the National Lacrosse Team of Peru (he is a first-generation American) in the 2024 World Cup and coaches lacrosse at the elite youth level (Youth Peruvian National Team, 2 Travel Teams, and a nationally ranked high school team).
